Rottnest Island is home to some of the greatest surfing off the West Australian Coast.
Salmon bay,Strickland bay and Stark Bay are a few of the better spots.
It is well known that waves off Rottnest can often be two or three feet higher than the waves off Perth beaches. Rottnest Island is a popular surfing destination for locals and tourists with numerous reef breaks around the island.
Surfing contests are held off Rottnest Island and during winter, competitions are also held by the Offshore Board Riders Club.
